I just got a call from Vicki telling me that Julie Babcock told her to tell me to update my blog, so here you go Julie and everyone else.......:) I have been meaning to do this but have been pre-occupied with getting things ready for our trip. For anyone reading this that doesn't know me, if you are thinking of robbing us while we are gone (that is if you can figure out where we live) don't. We have people house sitting, so there.
It was last Friday when I was in town running errands and I was pulling into the parking lot of Costco in Sandy that I received a text from my sister. For anyone that may have ever been to this Costco the entrance is rather strange so I concentrated on getting a parking spot and then I would respond back to her once I had parked. As I was walking into the store I read it "Hey, Brother and Sister Brock are here (meaning at the shop) do you want to talk to them?" I wrote back quickly and said "am I suppose to know these people?". She responded with "they are in Little Kenny's ward". I immediately dialed the shop and when my niece answered I said "get your mom on the phone this is very important". My sister was laughing because she understands how excited I would be to talk to someone that sees Kenny on a regular basis. She gave the phone to Brother Brock and he told me how much he and his wife love Kenny. He said that Kenny's companion is one of the greatest missionaries they have seen in a very long time. Which of course thrilled me to pieces because now I know that he is being trained by a great servant of the Lord. He said many nice things about Kenny which I won't share (don't want anyone to think I am bragging, although I would love to.....:) and I told him how grateful Ken and I were to him and his wife for taking such good care of our son. I was crying by now, which most of you would expect from me. So I got off the phone and finished my shopping with spurts of tears throughout my Costco journey. I called Ken which made it even worse! I was so happy to get that call, it made feel just a tiny bit connected to Kenny if even for a brief minute. It really made my day.
On Saturday while I was shopping with my sister in law and Jessica I got a call from Ken. He said "did you get a call from Texas?" of course I was immediately uneasy until he said that he had just gotten a call from someone named Patrick. It was someone that Kenny had baptized out in the mission field. He was actually sitting across from Kenny having lunch and he told Ken how much he loved Kenny and so on and so on (once again, don't want to bore you with details). He was very kind and the conversation came to an end. Ken actually heard Kenny laughing in the background (what I would have given to even hear him laughing). It made his day to receive that phone call just like it did when I got mine.
It is funny that we both get calls from someone that knows Kenny from the mission field in two days time. Perhaps we needed a little reassurance. I am not sure why it happened we are just grateful that it did and to know that Kenny is doing exactly what he should be doing. We continue to be amazed at the growth he shows in his letters and how grateful we are that he is serving the Lord.

Oh, I am so happy for you. But really, who doesn't love Kenny? I can only guess you will be getting more of these calls.
Thank you for updating your blog for me. See...if you update it, look at the wonderful things we can read!
BTW: Will you be updating it while in Tahiti or are you going to make us wait? :) Love you guys!
I'm so happy for you too. Glad to hear Kenny is doing so well. AND he's only been there for a couple of months. Just think of what he'll be when he gets home.
Have fun on your trip!
